  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was really excited to smoke this. I have quite a few Tatuaje/Pepin sticks now, and have heard nothing but good things.

This cigar has some strong flavour to it. It was very consistent from start to finish. I get this strong wood flavour, and used coffee grinds. There is also some nuts mixed in the exhale. A lot of pepper on the exhale.

This cigar was not all that smooth, and had an ammonia harshness to it that made retro-haling difficult, especially with how peppery it is. That's too bad, because the wood, coffee, and nuts were really pronounced, but would get flushed out by the harshness.

I found this cigar really strong, which also detracted from my enjoyment of it. Kind of gave me a headache by the half way point.

The ash was pretty white, and held on good. Burn was also fantastic. Nice slow even line.

I have one more of these that looks like its from a different batch based on the band being a little faded. I will certainly revisit this stick down the road, and hopefully not get the harshness, and be able to handle the strength.

This was actually the first Tatuaje cigar I ever smoked, and I still keep them on hand. One of my favorites.

This is a great cigar.. Actually had the opportunity to smoke an aged one the other day; they get better. Let that stick sit and any harshness should disappear.

Big fan of this cigar. Enjoying my 3rd one as I type. Did you happen to smoke your's ROTT? I've found these to be very smooth, and especially with some time in the humidor. If this one was your first, try another after aging a few months or from a different box. These are excellent! (not bad with Bacardi Select either..)

Thanks for the review:

Surprised to hear the words strong and harsh with this cigar, it has been one of my morning go to smokes for a while. I've always put them in the medium area and never found one to be harsh? Maybe a very fresh stick? As mentioned, give em a little time or try from a different box... They at least for me have been very consistent and a good anytime smoke at a very reasonable price. High $3's at a bid sight...
