Well last night the wife went out to Karaoke with the girls and after putting the kid down for the night I had a decision to make...watch TV or smoke a cigar. I didn't say it was a hard choice  and soon found myself rummaging through the humidor on the quest for something to smoke. Finally decided on the Tatuaje Havana VI that I have had sitting in there for a while now. Got it in a bomb, but can't remember who from...my apologies. I gathered my things and headed to the deck. This cigar is the Nobles which is a 5 x 50 Nicaraguan puro. The wrapper is a beautiful chocolate color, gleaming with oils . There are some veins present and there is a small tear in the wrapper on the foot, but nothing that will effect the experience. The seams are tight and only visible if you're really looking for them. There is a wonderful aroma of earth with a slight peppery chocolate coming off this baby .
The cap cut cleanly and easily and the draw is perfect. Flavors consist of a rich tobacco that leaves a tingle on the back of my tongue. The foot toasted to a nice cherry without too much persuasion from the flame of my Bic.
Right away the smoke output is great. The burn started out a little uneven, nothing major though. The flavors are not what I had expected given the earthy aroma, but then I'm still new to this so can't always predict such things. The predominate flavor is a nuttiness with a touch of cream to it and there is a peppery crescendo on the finish and through the nose. The pepper lingers on the back of the tongue for quite a while. The uneven burn doesn't take long to correct itself and while not quite razor sharp there are few who would complain. It's a beautiful night for a smoke, just a touch on the chilly side so I had to grab a jacket. While I was at it I busted out the mp3 player (thanks ERDoc, hope you're enjoying those cigars) and rocked out to some Cake :music:. The ash is while, tight, and holding strong.
What do you think...cigar model material? :hysterica
Toward the end of the 1/3 the flavors started to sour a bit and turned kind of smokey. I believe this to have been due to the speed at which I was puffing away. I hadn't realized I'd been going at it as hard as I was and had to force myself to slow down.
Now that I was consciously smoking slower, the flavors improved. Creamy nut is still the predominate flavor, but the pepper had died way down to more of a faint spice. The ash developed a look like it was going to fall off and I was just able to get it over my makeshift ashtray before it fell with a mighty thump at the 1/2 way point. After the ash fell the cigar started to burn a little crooked again, but corrected itself once again. After the ash drop the flavors started to transition into more of a rich tobacco with a slight woodiness on the finish. It was at this point I also changed to the music selection to Godsmack's The Other Side, which is their acoustic album and one of my favorites .
Towards the end of the 2/3 there started to develop a leathery flavor to the tobacco/woodiness. The 3/3 began with an unannounced ash clump falling in my lap :frown:. The burn remained great, flavors were good, cigar didn't get too hot. Overall this has been a great cigar .
I was able to smoke this cigar until it started to burn my fingers for a total burn time of around 1 hour 30 minutes. The flavors were good, the construction and subsequent burn were top notch. Not much else to say about this cigar other than it was terrific! These run in the $6-7 price range and are worth every penny . What are you waiting for...go...run...get some :hysterica.
