Hey Brothers! I went to my local B&M today and I decided to pick up a stick I hadn't yet tried and do my best to review it. I chose the Tatuaje Reserva J21. This is my first formal review and my palate is not fully developed, so please bear with me. EDIT: Pictures are up!
Pre-light: The cigar has a nice dark, evenly colored wrapper. There were severl noticeably large veins on one side, one being two or three inches long. The stick feels nice and firm, no sign of being under-filled at all. It seems like a solidly constructed cigar. It had a pleasant odor, but I couldn't place it. I liked the bands, but I felt the coloring of each clashed a little. The bands aren't glued on, so there will be no problem taking them off.
Lighting: I chose to punch this guy. It light with ease. I performed my usual lighting ritual, toasting the foot and then puffing while rotating.

First third: I would immediately classify this stick as medium to full, with the first third more to the medium end of the spectrum. The smoke was nice, not too thin, but not too thick either, just the way I like it. I picked up a slight spiciness, that was more apparent in a retro hale. There are other flavor notes that I wasn't quite able to identify, a slight leather or cream. Either way it was very tasty.
I had some slight canoeing, more than likely caused by improper lighting by me and/or the air circulation in the lounge of my B&M. The ash held on for about an inch and a quater, nice and tight. Not sure how long it would have gotten before it fell because, I started to type up the review and it went out as I was typing. So I ashed and relit.
Second Third: It's defenitely picked up on the strength, much more to the full end of the spectrum. The spice got heavier, especially in the retrohale. I think I'm picking up some leather (or wood?), but not sure. Smoke is still very pleasant and ash is holding on nice and tight for over an inch. I'm really enjoying this stick.
Final Third: At the start, not noticeably different from the second third. Smoke still has a nice thickness, and the spice is still the dominant flavor note, especially in the retrohale. It finishes nice and smooth. I smoked it to about an inch, that's when it started to feel and bitter and harsh to me.
Conclusion: It's a full bodied smoke with lots of spice. It's very smooth with a very pleasant retrohale throughout the entire stick. I really enjoyed this smoke, but perhaps it may have been a little too spicy near the end for me . I will defenitely smoke it again, but not sure if I like it enough to buy a box.
