Cigar Review #0004
Name: Tatuaje Reserve (J21)
Size: Robusto (J21) 5"x50
Shape: Parejo
Origin: Miami, USA
Wrapper color: Dark Brown
Tobaccos used: Filler and binder are Nicaraguan while the wrapper is a habano Ecuadorian leaf

Pete Johnson and My Father Cigars have another hit IMO with this stick. Rich dark flavors will please the experienced smoker and offer near perfect performance. Great smooth draw and a cool pleasing aroma make this a quality buy. Ranging from $9.50-$12 for this stick I consider this stick a little on the expensive side even though it boasts great specs and flavors. In short, I would compare this to Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Invictos, but this stick offers a better draw and better construction.
Just as a review:
Construction: Even, firm pack, minimal seams and veins, only a few visible stems at the cut, very smooth and effortless draw, dark chocolate and woody bark tastes and smells during the pre-light draw
Light: Easy to light, nice and smooth burn, plenty of rich smoke
Foot: rich dark chocolate, woody, earthy tastes reminiscent of dark soil, right away I knew this cigar would offer lots of rich flavors and is reminiscent of DPG blue label
Body: more rich woody and earth flavors, Almost bitter like the smell of bark, but mixed with chocolate flavors
Head: warmer, bolder, but no real spice. This smoke has a very consistent woody and chocolate profile. I would say it has medium body.
Conclusion: If you are looking for richer and stronger flavor look no further. This was a flavor punch to my pallet though it was lacking flavor transitions. In the end, I was left wanting more on this stick due to its short construction (5") and burn time, ± 50 minutes. If it has another inch I would probably really feel the effects of the nicotine and get more flavor. I wish I could try the Reserva SW 7"x 47 edition, I think. Maybe the SW would give more smoke time? All in all I think that the this smoke is a little (i.e. $1-$2) over priced for its size. I would smoke it again and look forward to the next smoke from Tatuaje.
I would score this one an 89-90.

Sorry about not providing burn pics, but I was without a camera at the time I smoked this.
