  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Wrapper: Corojo
Size: 5" X 50
Ring Size: 50
Cost: $9.35

Draw....Well it didn't but might have if I had given it a pen

Pre-Light... Of course it lit

This cigar started off with a little cream cheese tones which quickly shifted into Lemonade then to Apple Jacks and finally settled with some hints of Bacardi 151.

In all seriousness this is a GREAT cigar. It is very well constructed and had and excellent draw but not too loose. The burn was very even all the way until the end and the smoke was plentiful.

For those who have seen the last couple of issues of CA, you probably have noticed this brand being rated on several occasions and most getting very high scores. They tout themselves as being Cuban made in Miami. If I am not mistaking, I think they gave the Reserva J21 an 89 score which I feel may be slightly low. I rated it a 90-91 using their grading system.

This is the second vitola of this brand that I have had. The other one being the Cojonu which at this point I feel is even a little better than this one. I have several more J21's to smoke so after another my opinion may change.

I highly reccomend the Reserva J21 or the Cojonu!!!

Having had a few of the Tat's...they are some great cigars! I've had the Gran Conoju and the Conoju, but haven't tried the J21 yet.

Great review bubba, I might have to go get a couple J's.

Fantastic cigars.. I've tried just about all of them and the only one I don't like is the tatuaje reserve pantella size. It was just bitter. I usually don't compare domestic to cubans and usually try to stay away from those that try to look like cubans, but this was the first that I felt had any comparison. Reminded me of a well aged monticristo! Aroma great with dark and earthy flavors.

Oh, they also have an expensive Salomones and diadames. I've only smoked the Salomones, and was not impressed with that one. Not as flavorfull as the regular line and VERY expensive. Have yet to try to diadames.

I'm confused by this statement. In the review you said it had an excellent draw. Did you have to run a wire through it or something?

Mithshrike, re-read the statement several times, find the correlation (Sp?) between draw and pen...

Nice review. I haven't wanted to buy any NC for the past year or so, but these intrigue me. Would you say these have a typical Nic. tobacco taste?

more combo of the Nicaragua and Honduran. woody, mild sweatness flavors of a padron and more spicy and earthy flavors of a comacho.

I've had a few of the corona-sized Tatuaje's and a few of the robusto-sized ones, and I don't know if it's just my taste buds or what, but they taste almost Cuban to me...in fact, they remind me of Cubans in a lot of ways, including the look and feel of the wrapper, and the construction...

I tend to agree with you Neuro!!! It is almost like something funny is going on with these... almost like they are using a cuban wrapper, binder and/or filler. All the guys that I have spoken to that have been smoking cubans for quiet a while all said the same thing.
