  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Smoked one of my 2006 Reserva Noellas (aka Noella Oscuro) and then smoked a new 2009 edition. Both are fantastic smokes, but the short version is this. The original 2006 version may just be the best Tatuaje I have ever smoked. As good as the new ones are, it is a shame they didn't stick with what they had back in '06.

You can read the long winded version on my blog...

Remember -- the 2006 is aged 3 years more at this point. Three years from now, I'll guarantee that the 2009 Noella Reserva is going to be an amazing cigar as well.

I thought of that while I was smoking these and mentioned that near the end of my review... I still think the Oscuro wrapper would trump a 3 year old Broadleaf. That isn't to say that when 3 years old the '09 won't be much improved as well.

I was just thinking the same thing. I wonder if the age factor is where the majority of the differences in taste come from. I hope so b/c I have a few of the 09's sitting pretty in my humi!

The 2009 are already a very nice smoke, imvho. But yes I have no doubt they will improve a lot with age. I ended up getting half a box ... after the 5er I got, lol. I've given some away but now I think the rest are going to be locked-up for a year or so.
