  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The Drac is was released in October 2009 as the second installment in the Holiday Monster Series. The Drac was a fang-shaped Torpedo vitolla, in 1,300 boxes of 13 cigars each with a recommended price of $13 per cigar.

This is another one of those read and smoke days. After work, the weather was so nice that I couldn't resist.

It started off of with a relatively medium spiciness (not too intense and slightly lingering) some hints of cocoa and leather, and a big 'ole blast of espresso. I could swear I brewed this thing at home myself.
The paradox of creation, the coming of the forms of time out of eternity, is the germinal secret of the father. It can never be quite explained. Therefore, in every system of theology, there is an umbilical point., an Achilles tendon which the finger of mother life has touched, and where the possibility of perfect knowledge has been impaired. The problem of the hero is to pierce himself (and therewith his world) precisely through that point; to shatter and annihilate that key knot of his limited existence.
About an inch into the cigar and the spice has mellowed out. I'm now getting a sweet cedar taste with more mellow espresso and leather undertones. The cocoa seems to have gotten lost in the fray.

It's a windy day in NYC and I've been getting an occasional odd burn. When the wind picks up, it'll start canoeing. Once it dies down, it catches up and straightens out. Darn wind messing with my cigar! :cursing:

Getting closer to the half way point now. The spice has continued to mellow out. It's become more of a peppery taste than heat. The sweet cedar changes in intensity occasionally - sometimes being more pronounced than others. The leather and espresso tastes have ramped up with leather being more pronounced.

It was after the halfway point that this cigar showed its colors. Dracula has revealed his fangs, if you will. Being true to his nature, he's lulled me into a false sense of complacency and safety. Just as a least expected, fangs were drawn and true intentions disclosed. This cigar has ramped up in strength and intensity beyond what I expected. The sweet cedar slowly faded away into oblivion giving way to the full assault of leather, and the return of spice.

Unfortunately, I left my holy water and garlic in my other jacket. I move forward, aware of my impending doom. Luckily, there is nothing unpleasant about the experience. Towards the end, it's all spice and leather. A wonderful, satisfying smoke. I'm glad I was able to procure a dress box this year.

The problem of the hero going to meet his father is to open his soul beyond terror to such a degree that he will be ripe to understand how the sickening and insane tragedies of this vast and ruthless cosmos are completely validated in the majesty of Being. The hero transcends life with its peculiar blind spot and for a moment rises to a glimpse of the source. He beholds the face of the father, understands - and the two are atoned.

great review and pics!
Thanks! Means quite a bit coming from you, good sir.

Great Review! Where in the city were you smoking? I thought Bloomberg put the cabash on almost all out door smoking?
I was in Central Park. The proposed (bullshit) outdoor ban hasn't gone to vote yet. What's worse is that the law is supposed to be self-policing or something. Great way to start some nonsensical fights. :stickbeat
