  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In light of Roger Federer's 14th Grand Slam title and finally getting a French Open trophy under his belt does he now become the unquestionable greatest of all time?

I personally think him getting the French puts him over Sampras as the greatest of all time but then again there's Bjorn Borg for some reason I keep wondering if he might be the greatest.

Yes? No? Do let me know and why..

I think just as the argument in golf is that once Tiger surpasses Jack's major total, Tiger will be the greatest player ever. Same can be said here in this conversation and now that Federer has won the career Grand Slam(something Pete never did), and tied Pete's Major total he has to win one more Major to be the greatest ever in my book. Personally I voted Federer as the greatest ever right now, but I do believe to take all the questions out of this discussion he needs one more Major win to be considered the best by everyone.

Side note, does he cry after every win???

Pretty impressive victory yesterday. Luckily he didn't get shanked by the crazy fan...:stickbeat
Right!! What the hell was Federer doing, he should have been beating that guy down with his racket, not curling up in a bitch ball when that dude was up on him!!

Seems like every 5 - 10 years or so each sport has new superstars that emerge. I don't really care for "best ever" comparisons though as these players can never face each other while in their prime. Sure is nice to think about though ...

Over the years, I sure enjoyed watching these guys play:

Rod Laver
Ken Rosewall
Bjorn Borg
Ivan Lendl
John McEnroe
Jimmy Connors
Arthur Ashe
Andre Agassi
Boris Becker
