If someone already posted an opinion or comment on this book, I apologize for not finding it within my search.

Features:
Full-color hard back
352 pages
Book measures 9 3/4"x 1 1/2"x 12"
Weight: 6 lbs.
Edition: 2010

I had a chance to thumb through "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Post Revolution Havana Cigars" by Min Ron Nee. Unfortunately, I've never been able to secure a copy.

The Grand Book of the Habano is written by Adriano Martinez who is the co-author of the legendary book "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Post Revolution Havana Cigars."

Cigarmony.com recently posted the "The Grand Book of the Habano" for sale.

Has anyone read this book or have any thoughts. I'm thinking about picking up a copy?

Thanks guys. That's enough from two CC experts to tell me that I should own it.

There you go Ben. You're officially a Double expert!!!!!!! In all seriousness if Colin Ganley recommends it that is my advice as well.

it's a fantastic book. Lots of great information and history of the habano. Highly recommended
I remember when this was announced but never saw much of a great description. I think there is a review on Amazon that popped up not too long ago.

What is the subject matter? History of the business/culture, etc.?

Good question... here's something that I just pulled from a TIFF or GIF of the back cover? Not sure the exact page but that is what it looked like:

"In this new book the author deals with the principal issues
contributing to the concept of the Habano as an integral cultural
expression, and approaches with great detail each one of the topics
of the Habano's past and present times, allowing the reader to discover
many puzzles surrounding this jewel.

The book-bilingual (English and Spanish) with ten chapters and hundreds
of image-embrace the different facets of the Habano, its socio-historical
origins and the systematization of its argicultural and manufacturing phases.
As well, it includes an approach to elements related to the Habano, such as
the origin of the vitolas, the habilitaciones (labels), the boxes, the first
Habano factories, the great brands and an unpublished historical vision of the
Habano's commercialization up the 21st century."

So, it doesn't look like it goes into detail of the various brands like "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Post Revolution HAVANA Cigars," but I could be wrong. Interesting question... just thought this information was somewhat interesting.

With it being bilingual maybe I can work on my Spanish also... lol.

I know... I want a copy of MRN so bad that I'd consider doing the same thing... :headroll: My buddy brings a copy to the cigar shop for me to read and drool over... I actually snapped a photo of a section or paragraph that I may post because I want folks opinion on aging... a very interesting book.

I'm getting them from customs today.

It's supposed to have historical habanos info as well as current marketing info

People who have it seem to dig it

I hope this helps

BTW - Still trying to find a distributor who has MRNs left. All the distributors that I could previously get them from at a "reasonable" cost, have been sold out for about 2 years. I think PCC has some but they are crazy expensive.
