A co-worker has a customer The Smokey Cigar that is located in Hendersonville, TN. The owner was kind enough to send her some cigars and she gave one to me to smoke.
Not knowing much about this and after looking on their website with no information about the cigar I had my co-worker ask her customer for some information.
He told us it is made in Estili using the same factory that Don Gonzalez uses(not sure what factory this would be and I am unfamiliar with Don Gonzalez), and is a Nicaraguan Puro size looked to be a 6 X 60.
I was a bit skeptical to be honest and wasnt anticipating anything great. After smoking it I was pleasently surprised at how tasty this cigar was.
Overall Construction was good no softspots, no major veins.
Pre-Light nose had a bit of spice and almost a barnyard aroma to it.
After lighting it right off you get the spice from the ligero in the cigar very pleasant not over powering but strong enough which is something I enjoy in a cigar. 1st third was mostly the black pepper with a hint of sweet that I liken to honey. None of the barnyard aroma I got on the nose is coming through which is nice.
Going into the 2nd third the pepper backs down and Cedar is the more prodiminant flavor keeping the honey sweetness on the back.
As we come into the final third this a nutty note coming through with the cedar a little mellowed out all the while the honey sweetness is still floating in the back.
Overall this is a very pleasant cigar that I would smoke again. The only downside in my eyes is the size I am not a fan of the 60 ring guage if it was a 52 or smaller I would probably buy a box to have on hand.
any TN brothers or sisters near this shop It looks like a great place to hang out and they have a pretty decent house blend.
