so figured maybe a few of you would find this interesting...
A little less than a year ago, when David Kitchens was still the current general manager of Holt's Cigar Company in Philadelphia, he and I pitched an idea to Pete for an exclusive cigar for Holt's when he was at the shop doing an event. Below is the preliminary art for the cigar, the final image was never finished, but the sketches and comps are kinda interesting, and I think they would have made for some bad-ass packaging. Sadly, David left Holt's a few months later, before samples were sent and things were really set into motion, and David's projects left with him. The cigars were going to be an oscuro lonsdale, packed in a brick, and much like the havana cazadores are packed in foil, these were going go be wrapped in craft paper with the following art printed on it. Black varnished boxes, with a simplified image burnt onto the top, and more than likely no type to give it a mysterious air.
alas it was not meant to be. One of these days I'm gonna finish the art anyway, I hate leaving things unfinished.
