yesterday I had the most uncomfortable flight ever. I was seated next to a very obese man. so much so that he was encroaching into my seat and had to be provided with a seatbelt extension.
on board I wanted to be respectful so I kept my displeasure to myself. we were seated in the next to last row, thus the guy would have been able to hear me if I had gotten up to point him out to the flight attendant at the galley in the back of the plane. I still feel they should have identified him when they brought out the extension.
as soon as we deplaned I asked someone at the gate to call down a red coat -- btw the airline was continental -- who told me there was nothing they could do as far as compensating me. a follow-up call to the customer service center was just as useless.
I'm a pretty tolerant person, but I feel I should be compensated for 1. as a paying customer not being able to enjoy my entire seat since I had to hunch over the ENTIRE flight (seriously, I was in the crash landing position from the time we pushed back from the gate at MSY). 2. have to send my suit pants to the cleaners because my entire right leg was sweaty from having his leg pressed against mine
what should I request?
free first class upgrade for my next flight?
