  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This might be blasphemous

Between getting quality smokes and everything else I have yet to purchase a cutter. Most of my smoking is done in my garage I end up using my razor knife. This works great for now, but it will be nice to finally get a cutter so I can feel less foolish we I make it to my local b&m. It will be so nice to smoke in a heated environment.

There's a guy at one of my local b&ms that uses a bad ass, super sharp blade to Vcut his cigars. So it's not as outlandish as you think my friend.

That takes me back. I used a utility knife when I started too. It worked OK but I think you'll like the cutter. Definitely safer especially if you enjoy an adult beverage with your cigar.

You only look foolish with a dull blade and you hack the stick to pieces and I've seen some cutters dull/not work well also. I have a cold steel and a benchmade that I maintain the edges on and they go right through for a clean guillotine type cut. I don't hesitate to use them if I don't have a cutter... Lol You have to practice tho so it looks second nature

It took me a while to get a cutter as well. Used to just have everything cut at the shop when I bought it (only one at a time within a few days of smoking). But, when I bought a humidor, I got a cheap $5 cutter that works well. I will eventually upgrade, but its good for now. Also, the Ronson torch is good to have. Cheap but effective.

Both Walgreens and CVS pharmacy carry them around here for less than $5... Honestly they are a great little torch for the money...
