So Somebody help me out. I am finishing up this cigar. I have to say it is a rather mild cigar. I am not able to pick out notes of this or that, so if you have had one of these tell me what you thought of it.

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I posted up a review on the My Fathers. Very very plain cigar with a great draw. Very very mild cigar also. Steer clear, if you've been smoking for some time.
did you notice that it doesn't hold an ash at all, Damn I hate it when an ash falls on you. This thing did it several times. I have to say it also isnt a very complex cigar either. Good thing I only have 3 of them.

sounds like you may be best to give the others away! too mild = no good sometimes.

I have only smoked the No. 2's, would actually like to try the lancero, but since you posted the same results as I did with the No. 2, I am not sure now. Hint of spices and dullness. It is not bad for an early early morning smoke. 5 am. Still too light for a mid morning 9-10 am smoke.
Yeah I would say dull. No excitement about this stick. I would smoke a JDN Lancero over this any day of the week. Those are some bitchin lanceros. I also would like to add in that I was also dissapointed in Rocky Patels lanceros too. I have the Fusion and the double Maduro, as well as several of his summer blends. I have had all 3 and nothing to write a rave review about. I'm going back to my JDN and my series V's those are where its at.

la flor dominicana double ligero lancero is amazing piece of smoke. Strong powerful smoke for a lancero.
I'd say place the My Father with some spicy cigar you might have in your humidor for a few months.

I would trade, but for what, all I would want are a couple of other lancero's. I guess If anyone wanteds to trade for a couple of LFD, or JDN Lancero's I'd trade.

I could not disagree with you more. I will not argue that the My Father is the best cigar out there by any means, however, to go so far as to say to steer clear is doing the other brothers an injustice. I thought that this cigar was good but not great. To me it had complexity albeit subtle and was absolutely not a mild cigar regardless of what you smoke (I usually smoke Tats, LFD, and Illusione). You must also consider that this blend was created by Jaime Garcia in tribute to his father, so there are going to be differences in flavor from the normal Pepin profile. If you went in to this expecting the normal spice and "kick" that you get in most Pepin cigars than you would be tempted to say this is a mild stick. Lack of spice does not equal mild in my opinion. I would say to give this one a few more tries before writing it off. I would certainly not advise someone to steer clear as they would miss out on a new, different, and quite good cigar.

I have smoked six No. 2's, every-time expecting to find something different within the smoke, having some in the humidor for more than a month to see if it would open up its complexity to me. Of-course I couldn't find it. Every time left with the same feeling of a disappointment. I have recommended this cigar to new cigar smoker, whom enjoy them to the very end. I am sure the mature smoker may enjoy these, but then again, they may not. Of-course if you are feeling a little adventurous in trying these, go right ahead.
There are many strong cigars in the market and many of which I enjoy. For a some what equal cigar, I would venture off saying padron thousand series would provide a better kick.
A full bodied smoke to me, are usually a joya de nicaragua or la flor dominicana double ligero.
I've only tried the lancero. i found it to be spicy albeit a somewhat one-dimensional smoke. I would not call it mild at all.
