So having today off from school and work, I didn't really do anything but relax all day. A couple of hours ago I happened to walk outside and was surprised to see that it was about 60 degrees out, up from the 30s and 40s of the past week...so I thought, what better way to end this relaxing day than to have a smoke? Last week I got a sampler in from cigarsinternational that I picked up for pretty cheap, just to try some of what was out there, as I'm still pretty new to this. So tonight I pulled out a Tierra del Sol torpedo that came in the sampler and decided to give it a shot. I didn't expect much, as I've never heard these mentioned and don't see them on many sites, but I lit it up to see if it had any surprises. It was a very mild smoke, and after not really doing anything all day, it kind of hit the spot. The draw was a little tight, but the light flavors through the first third were pretty tasty. It seemed like a little coffee and cocoa, but I'm in the beginning stages of refining my pallette, so what do I know? Getting into the second third, the flavor got a little bit stronger, but before too long turned slightly bitter. After that it didn't change much else. But for a 2 dollar smoke, I thought it was pretty decent. Definitely not putting it up at the top of my list, but it did exceed my expectations after not expecting much. I just wanted to do a little writeup because I haven't before and was hoping to get a little feedback. Take it easy everyone.
