For the local guys in Austin (and neighboring areas) - Fuente's Toast Across America event is coming to Heroes and Legacies on Sept 23. Unfortunately, Carlito will not be at this year's event... but there's still plenty of cool stuff available.

Can't believe it's already been almost a year since we last went. I could've sworn it was just a few months ago.

Anyways... Scott, Jorge, Danny... you guys up for it?

oh shit, that's a friday! I might be there, I'll have to check the football schedule. I wonder if houston is going to have one this year. last year we didn't have one because none of the opus x account shop wanted to host it. ron did, but they wouldn't let him because he does not yet have opus x status.

is this the same thing we went to last year Michael? If it is...I'm there. If it's not...I'm there.

Same thing except without Carlito.

I've heard there's going to be some really cool and special stuff available this year... I'll see if I can more concrete info as the date approaches.

Btw, they've remodeled the Connoseiurs room... it's now twice as long. It's finally more than just a closet.

On special event nights, the entire store is open including the lounge. There will be food, drinks, and the whole nine.

You can definitely smoke your own cigars. Last year, because Carlito was there, everyone had a Fuente product lit up. This year, I doubt there will be that much ass kissing or brand promotion going on. :rolling:

Not a member... nor do I plan on joining. I have much better things to do with $850 or $900. :grinFU:

michael,

who did you find out about this? I surfed over to cf and didn't see anything listed. I want to know if houston is going to have one (we didn't last year), if not I'm austin bound on a non-home game football weekend.

I stopped by Heroes a few days ago and asked about their upcoming events. I remember reading somewhere that the main Fuente TAA event is being held last part of Sept, early Oct. I'm not sure where else you can find event locations. I would think that someone in Houston would be hosting one.

If not, come on down.

talked to ron. houston is being shut out for a second year in a row. apparently there is enough product to limit the events to two locations per state. this is a bunch of b.s. they are going to host them in places like new mexico and hawaii where they don't have enough people to sell them, but people in houston are willing to host it (ron) and they can't accomodate us.

looks like I'll be coming to austin.

michael, do you know if h&l is selling tickets for it, yet? as far as I know an official announcement hasn't been made yet.

jorge, you don't need to worry about tickets. just show up that night and pay at the cash register. you pay and get some regular line fuente stuff w/admission. then, you calmly buy your personal limit of special stuff from behind the counter. then ou go into the lounge and you eat all the free salt-lick/couunty line...whatever it is. You drink a shitload of beer, which is also included. then you buy some casino chips and try to shmooze the dealers into giving you free chips. then you exchange your chips for more special crap. the girl doing the exchanges is a f'ing hottie. she'll hook you up too.

that pretty much sums it up.

tickets are not a problem... its a charity event. the more people, the better. not yet confirmed, but i hear there will be some extra "special" sticks available this year. regardless, this will be a good time for a good cause.

I got an email from h&l a few days ago. tickets went up to $100, what the fuck? is that what fuente is charging -- up from $50 the past two years -- now? or does the extra $50 cover all the other extras from h&l?

I want to know exactly what's included now. if it's just a couple of chateau sungrowns and an ashton mduro again for that price, i'm not biting. Jorge, can you fwd. me the email. I didn't get one.

last time there were different packages/ticket options available. we all got the $25, i thought (maybe 50).

Research under way. I'll have an update for you guys shortly.

Initial feedback is that the $100 is for the first 45 people. They will get the 2 figurados similar to last year (whoop dee freaking doo) but they will also get 3 unreleased Opus.

i would pay $100 for that. seriously. i wonder if the ones who aren't first will actually still be able to enter for a smaller charge, without the chili peppers and whatnot.

I just hope to get a really cool blackjack dealer again.

Just an FYI (not that it really matters)... the event has been postponed.

In addition, H&L never had all the details ironed out anyways. Everyone working there had a different idea of what was going on, how much it was going to cost, etc.

They really need to get their act together.

But first and foremost, everyone be safe this weekend.
