The wrapper has a lot of fine veins on it. I actually like that it actually looks like a leaf and hasn't been rolled to ultra smooth perfection. Now the binder, it has veins that pop up like a 3d topographic map.

Flavors are leather, wood, and spicy sweet pepper. There is just a hint of something sweet behind the pepper that changes it from your typical black pepper. Cocoa pops in with about 1.5" down. The wood turns back to cedar when the ash falls.

Edit to add:
The weirdest thing happened. A couple of puffs had a weird combination of flavors that instantly reminded me of Old Spice. It didn't taste like getting sprayed in the mouth with perfume, it was actually very pleasant. Think the scent of Old Spice while drinking a cup of coffee from a wooden mug.

Caldwell Eastern Standard.

Two strange things:

-- Fairly tight draw, rarely ever have this issue with Caldwells.

-- For the first part of the cigar, there was an overwhelming flavor of rye. Don't remember getting that from a cigar before, or certainly not this pronounced if I ever did.
