Was watching a Jimi doc last night on Netflix and listening to Killing Floor at Monterrey Pop and it got me thinking, although a breakthrough style, it has to be one of the best renditions of a classic American blues song. Cant find the actual version on YouTube but its a bit faster and punchier than this one.

Keith Richards has said the Stones just wanted to play good ol' toe tappin' American Rock and Blues.

What are your favorite blues songs?

Muddy Waters- Baby Please Don't Go
Robert Johnson- If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day
Robert Johnson- All My Loves in Vain
(There was a documentary about Robert Johnson from the 90's where some guy went around where he was from. He found the still alive former girlfriend, Willie Mae, that All My Loves in Vain is about. The song is about him getting on a train and leaving her to go off and make his fame. Astoundingly, she had never heard the song before! He played it for her, and she started weeping. It was heartbreaking.)
