  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey guys. I have a box (Gispert) that has the outside treated with laquer or something, and it has a faint odor. Is it a bad idea to put it inside my coolerdor, can it impart a chemical smell or flavor?

If you're that worried then I wouldn't chance it and may'be find another box. But it really depends on how "faint" it is?

I've had the same problem with some 5 Vegas A boxes with some fairly strong smelling lacquer. I took the cigars out, put them in the humi. Then about a month later, after the cigar box aired out I put it in.

Yeah, I guess I won't chance it unless it dissipates. It's too bad, I need boxes for the coolerdor and I keep getting these laquered ones. The Sancho Panza one is VERY strong and will never go in there.
