  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm not much for writing reviews, I think this is my first actualy, but I was recently suprised by a cigar and wanted to pass on to give this guy a try if you see one around.

It's a gold band Trinidad for their 100th Aniv. that I'd had sitting in my humi for over a year. I had picked up a handful on some whim after having smoked one and liking it, but had mostly forgotten about these guys until I got a whim last night to go digging. Very smooth, creamy and loads of coco. Not the best construction, but no burn issues and didn't burn too hot.

OK, so maybe I still haven't written a review. I've changed so much since my first one I can't say for sure if it got much better with time or I did, but wow, good smoke.

I did the same thing with the short robusto... Held on to it for about a year & broke it out about a month ago..

I did not have the same experience though - it burned fine & it wasn't bad, but I won't repeat the experience. Just didn't 'do it' for me...

Depends on who you think has better claim to the name, the Family that started it and then sold the rights of the name to Altidas or the Castro who socialized the factory. The NC is post Castro though.

That's what I mean the cc brand has only been for sale for 10 years as state gifts for 30 more and isn't a pre nationalization brand. How is the nc brand coming up with 100 year anni cigars. No family ties like padron either

100th anniversary of WHAT?

MRN's book says the Trinidad brand was first produced in 1969 at the El Laguito factory in Havana.

???

I wasn't impressed with the 100th anniversary stick. I was on a big nc Trinidad kick for awhile so I picked a few up. It was an ok smoke. Not what I expected for a 100th anniversary stick at all. Just my $0.02.

Thanksforthe review, Mitch! I've never liked the NC Trinidads, though this one sounds good for a morning at the beach!

Interesting history on that blog post. I don't know how accurate it is (or for that matter, MRN's book) but it does sound like a good story!
