  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Read in Perelman's newsletter that Trinidad will have an Edicion Limitada in 2007. That I find of great interest. Hopefully a new shape and if so I'm betting we will see a Piramide or Campana? A new vitola would be welcomed by me. :eyebrow:

Cohiba is also coming out with a new line of maduros. Pass on these.

Great research Timl,
I think Cohiba should concentrate on consistency within their original lines(Esplendido,Lancero) before they add another thick ring cigar to cash in on the latest trend.

We have known for a few years now that Cohiba was trying to cash in and that is exactly what they have been doing and will imho continue to do....

Yes they are. I'm beginning to think that the EL's just aren't worth the extra cash. You can bet they will be WAY expensive.

Do you remember when you could find dark oily cigars in just about each line? Now its rare except for the limitadas. I worry that the focus of only the best for the limitada lines is reducing the quality of the old guard.

Yes!! Which just solidifies the need to TRUST your vendor and build a relationship with him so they know EXACTLY what you like.

Exactly like those. I used to get Monte #2's like that all the time. Alas, rare any more.

And that's really all they're trying to do, to cash in.

It's hard to cash in on a product that people won't buy.

Altadis and Habanos SA are only making and marketing these because people keep buying.

Same thing with some of the cigars that re-appeared. PLPC is regular production again because it quickly sold out. If you want a vitola of a certain marca to come back, flood every online retailer with requests for the next year, and buy every box that is temporarily re-issued.
