Trying to redesign my site

I'm trying to redesign cigarjack.net. I'm starting to get a rough idea what I want.

What do you guys think so far? Granted It will have a logo across the top similar to my avatar here.

I like the darker background on the new site - but otherwise they are both good.

I kind of like the current layout better. The links and menu on the left seem to flow smoother to me. On the new one the adds do not seem to be centered on the left side, in the white box. However, I like the gray background. It helps break up each story.
