So the honeymoon is finally almost here. Were leaving next weekend and will be in Europe for two weeks. I was hoping some of you that have been across the pond recently could shed some light on the typical stock I’ll be seeing at cigar shops over there. Do they ever have singles of any regionals or ELs or even the lcdh releases available ? If so is any of it even worth the premium ? Or do they only stick to open boxes/singles of regular production stuff ?

When I was in Germany both the shops I went to had singles and boxes of the german regionals. Aside from that they had pretty much standard stock but they weren't LCDHs to be fair

Ok good to know. I was hoping I would be able to snag a regional or two from each country we visit.

Regionals are released annually in different areas. But they’re not regular production for every country

Check to see if the countries you’re visiting have had recent regional releases on google

That one came out last year ... It wasn’t for me. Too small.

I just checked I only smoked two from the box so 8 will sit there and either get better or get traded eventually

Regional releases will depend on the region you are in Europe. If you go to La Casa Del Habanos in Europe they will have the LCDH releases. Other cigars shops in Europe that sell Habanos are Habanos Specialists. Taxes will have a lot to do if the prices are worth it or not. If you purchase cigars there and smoke them there you must pay the taxes of the respective country. If you ship back to the US they are duty free. You might find some Edicion Limitadas and random aged stuff. The good part is you can usually see what age/date the cigars. The cigar shops in Europe are pretty cool their inventory is like 80% Habanos. But try to find the La Casa Del Habanos they will be 100% Habanos.

Is walking around and smoking a cigar frowned upon in Spain France or Italy ? Not sure if the wife is going to want to sit in a cigar lounge for an hour and a half plus haha

Never been to Spain or France, but in Italy smoking isn’t frowned upon and you see many locals smoking cigs in crowded areas, next to children, at outdoor cafes. Come to think of it, I didn’t really see much in the way of cigar smoking but would not imagine it would be frowned upon.

Just got back from France and smoking was allowed in all open areas. Including eating areas outside and parks. It was kind off weird seeing ashtrays everywhere. I don't remember the last time I saw an ashtray out in public outside of local cigar shops.

No, we drove the North coast. Stayed in a little resort town Etretat, went to the D-day sites at the Normandy beaches and visited Mont St Michel. Then down into Versailles and Paris.

Cono Sur wasn’t an Ireland regional, it was a South American regional. Cono Sur means southern tip, referring to the southernmost countries. It’s been out for over a year at this point and was much more available 6 or so months ago.
