UFC 115 Thoughts...

Alright peeps, thought since Chuck Liddell was coming off retirement, Rich Franklin coming off surgery wanted to get your thoughts on the out comes of tonights fights. There is a new exciting heavy weight coming out to fight Mirko Cro Cop, his name is Pat Barry. For MMA fans, this kid is very exciting, tough, mean, 5' 11'' terror from N.O. (who dat) and if you don't know the name, you will after tonight.

I hope Barry destroys CroCop and sends him to retirement. Dude was one of the best for sure, but his years are behind him. As much as I like Chuck and want to see him do well, how can one handicap a fight where both guys have been off for so long?

This is kind of a thread jack, but did you guys ever see the video of Liddell and his girlfriend working out nekked? I was traumatized by chuck doing cardio nekked.

I find myself pulling from the other direction. It wasn't long ago in the world of sports that a person had to start from the bottom, earn their keep, and work their way to the top. More recently, however, a lot of younger guys have been born into money and start out on the top. Although this is not the case in the UFC because it has not been around very long, and younger men are (for the most part) more able to fight, I still prefer the former.

That said, I prefer a technical older fighter such as Couture over a young punk who just comes out swinging like the Diaz brothers. Also, I think Mirko has exemplary attitude, sportsmanship, and character. I'm definately glad he won and I think he earned it.

Hey just for dragging his ass of the mat (twice) in the first round the way he did, dude earned my respect too. Surprised Barry didn't move in for the kill either time, just gave him time to recover and get back up.
