  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Alright after Lesnar putting the beat down on Randy at UFC 91 we get ready for the second half of the heavy weight title picture.. so this is what the UFC 92 card is shaping up like:

Light Heavyweight Championship bout: UFC Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin (United States) vs Rashad Evans (United States)

Interim Heavyweight Championship bout: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (Brazil) vs Frank Mir (United States)

Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson (United States) vs Wanderlei Silva (Brazil)

Middleweight bout: C.B. Dollaway (United States) vs Mike Massenzio (United States)

Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo (France) vs Mustafa Al-Turk (UK)

Middleweight bout: Yushin Okami (Japan) vs Dean Lister (United States)

Heavyweight bout: Antoni Hardonk (Netherlands) vs Mark Burch (United States)

Light Heavyweight bout: Matt Hamill (United States) vs Reese Andy (United States)

Welterweight bout: Brad Blackburn (United States) vs Ryo Chonan (Japan)

Heavyweight bout: Dan Evensen (Norway) vs Pat Barry (United States)

Here's how I see it:

Rashad over Forrest, Forrest imo was lucky to win the title over Rampage and I'm surprised that a title would change hands in such a close fight.

Nog over Mur though if history is some thing to go by Mur might just pull this out but I'll stick with Nog by submission.

Wandy over Rampage.. Wandy's getting old but I think he needs this win.

CB over Massenzio with one of his peruvian headlocks.

I like Al-Turk over Kongo even though Kongo is always entertaining.

Okami, Hardonk, Chonan and Evensen to round off the card.

Bump! come on I know I'm not the only UFC fan here just because I can't turn this into a contest and send you sticks is no reason to withhold your picks.

cant wait for this fight. Its fun to watch, but like any sport, I stop short of being a 'fan'. Being a fan denotes watching all the events, and remembering names, faces, and stats from the beginning of the sport. I just watch for the fun of the fight, but for me to remember all that, I just cant do it. I'll hope for the Jets to win, but I cant be bothered to remember all the players names, stats, etc.

But thats just me...

Man I don't think being a fan means that you should know of something from adam just the fact that you enjoy it and/or are entertained by it is reason enough to be a fan in my book.

I'm extremely excited about this card. I'm skipping out on a holiday party early so I can come home and buy it on PPV. I usually don't make picks, and I'll stick with that. I'm just excited to see some great fights! I think the Griffin v Evans fight is going to be really interesting as they are really both peaking right now.

Well, Im a big fan of MMA, especially UFC. This card is one of the better ones they have put up...I usually go to the local pub to watch them, however this one is worth the PPV charge to see it at home.

My pics...

Griffin by decision
Noguiera by submission
Jackson by TKO
CB by submission
kongo by TKO

That fight lived up to the hype, I personally would have liked to see some of them end up a bit longer....but some great fights in there. I'm not totally shocked about the Griffin loss, but Mir definitely shocked everyone (including himself). I'm a little surprised about the Rampage win, but of course Silva isn't the same Silva that dominated Jackson 4 years ago over in Pride. Great stuff!
