Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
yes they have!Man the English papers are going to rip him a new one. An AYSO goalie could have blocked that shot.
Robert Green took full responsibility for his mistake that gifted the United States their goal in their 1-1 draw with England on Friday, but said he would bounce back immediately and not dwell on the error.
He was given huge moral support straight after the Group C game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium by one of his American opponents who also happens to be one of his best friends -- his West Ham United club mate, Jonathan Spector.
"I felt for him," said Spector. "My heart went out to him."
Green told reporters: "I saw the ball coming, thought I had it covered, but missed it."
Absolutely! That is the softest goal you'll ever see. I saw one magazine (News of the World) with Green on the cover reading, "Hand of Clod" (like 'Hand of God' when Maradona led Argentina to win the World Cup in '86).It looked like his hands were left of the center of the ball. It just deflected off. Gotta be the easiest goal that guy has ever scored.
On another note, our goalie kicked ass. Aside from that one goal in the 4th minute, he had some awesome blocks!
Two teams advance from each group. In the case of a three way tie, they would see how many goals each country scored... whoever got the most will win the group. If they scored the same, they will compare how many goals each country allowed.I enjoyed the game but I sure would have liked the 3 points.
What happens if the USA and ENG both win their next two games. They will both have 7 points. Do they both advance?
Interesting - thanks :ccowboy:Two teams advance from each group. In the case of a three way tie, they would see how many goals each country scored... whoever got the most will win the group. If they scored the same, they will compare how many goals each country allowed.
