Again, keeping it simple...
Cigar: Vallejuelo
Size: 5 x 50 (Robusto)
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Nicaragua and Dominican Republic
I got 3 of these this year from a trade. I was excited to smoke 'em since I read the reviews from some people. It was an unknown brand in the US which got a 92 or 91 on CA (which i think it doesn't mean anything lol :innocent
. Ambient Humidity was between 65% and 75%, so this could've created some burn issues, but gladly it didn't.
- Perfect draw....really, it was a perfect draw.
- Perfect burn...again, by perfect I mean razor-sharp burn, with no issues whatsoever. I should add: it became kinda hot starting 3/3, which made me slow down a bit more, and let it rest so it could cool down.
- Great construction, 1 soft spot but no big deal. I must say, great ash...hold very well even on the windy night I had.
- Med-full flavor. It had some pepper (stronger than the LADC Mi Amor) But i only got it on 1/3 and 3/3. Notes of wood and barnyard. I had trouble identifying the wood, since there was some subtle coffee flavor...at first it was stronger then it became subtle, struggling with the wood.
- Medium Body, although at the end it went up to Med-Full.
- Very light smoke...at some points you could have a richer smoke, but the overall was a light smoke.
- Smoking Time = 1 hour and 40 minutes
Conclusion? = Would make it my go-to stick on day that I wouldn't know what to choose.
NOTE: My smoking times are always higher than what people report on the internet. Why? Maybe cuz we have a high humidity on the DR, or maybe cuz im a slow smoker.
