I have only been smoking about 8 months or so. I have wasted a few hundred dollars looking for the values on NC creamy cigars. So far I have found value in these and think they are at least a little creamy. Prices are average at local cigar shops around Dallas, Texas.

VegaFina $4.50
Perdomo Lot 23 $4.50
Arturo Fuente Chateau Natural (Good but on the small side) $4.75
5 Vegas Gold $3-5 (Depending on order from CI.)
CI Legends Cusano $3-5 (Depending on order from CI.)

PS. Did not like the Montesino, have in box about to try Kristoff, Don Pepin Blue, Chateau Real and La Aurora E. Leon.

It seems hard to find a good creamy cigar that is not on the expensive side (i.e. Por Larranaga, Cuvee Blanc, Butera, Monte Cristo White, Avo, Ashton Cabinet, Upmann etc.). Anyone have any suggestions in the lower 3-5 dollar price range?

Appreciate any help!
Ryan

Creamy?.... hmmm. I don't think I would call the AF creamy, but the description is fairly objective.

I would suggest an Oliva Series G, but I don't know how "creamy" I would call it. Whenever I feel like what I would call a creamy cigar, I reach for a Hemingway classic or signature.

Yes creamy is sometimes hard to describe. I was just putting on my hello that I think of creamy as silky hazelnut with thick white smoke. The AF was thick smoke and silky (especially sweet spot), but it did lack the natural sweetness. I guess I am saying hazelnut or earthy sweet instead of an artifical type.

I did not like the Oliva Series G, almost tasted like a bad stick. It was very dry and simple. Maybe I just got a bad one.

I smoked the Hemmingway. I think it was around 8-9 bucks. Pretty good but not necessarily a great value to me.

Try a Taboo Twist:

I won an assortment of Taboo cigars in a contest on another board, and I was impressed by the Twist. It's very smooth, mild, and creamy.

I remember smoking a twist from Gurkha that was pretty good. I think it only came in a promo pack from CI and was called the Gurkha 5 Star sampler - Gurkha EL Enigma Torpedo (6" x 53).

So you are saying it is worth the drive up there? I just might do it, thanks.

I too love creamy cigars, the 5 Vegas Gold is one of my current favorites. I can tell you that IMO the Rocky Patel Signature [usually less than $4/stick for a 5er on CigarBid.com] is creamier than the 5 Vegas Gold (more buttery, with nuts and cedar as well, and less spice) and about the same strength level.

But the Rocky Patel Fusion [usually less than $4/stick for a 5er on cigarbid] is I think the creamiest smoke I've ever had. It's a bit stronger (medium-full) and more flavorful, but it was simply amazing. I have only smoked the Lancero so far--and promptly bought a whole box of the Toro size...my FIRST box purchase ever! That's how good this thing was. Tons of smoke, very cool burn, simply an amazing cigar.

Personally, I think the CAO Black [about $4/stick on cigarbid] is pretty creamy as well, and also has tons of smoke. There's a bit of sweetness to the Black as well, which I like a lot. There's a Black deal on CI here: http://www.cigarsinternational.com/prodDisp.asp?item=CS-FPM&cat=152

My smoking buddy told me that the Romeo y Julietta 1875 is pretty smooth and creamy, but I haven't had one of those in years and it was Cuban, so can't really remember, though I enjoyed it.

Keep us posted on what you end up liking--I want to know for myself as well!

I am smoking a Patel edge right now. I will definitely try the fusion. The only thing about Patel is that some of his cigars are too leathery for me. I saw some CAO Blacks at store yesterday for around 7 or 8. I opted for the CAO Gold, it was 6.70 i think at local store.

If you are that close....yes, drive there. Twist from Taboo are excellent. Try about anything in the Taboo line. Rob the owner is outstanding as business man and in customer support.

Just went by there and bought a box of toros 6x58. The Taboo Twist is a great cigar, creamy and smokes well. I hit it pretty hard :stickbeat (the robusto I bought for the way home) and it held up nicely, I can only imagine how good the 58 ring toro will be. Thanks for the info. I will definitely buy more, darn good deal. The owner is pretty cool guy to!

Rocky Patel Connecticut, Fonseca 5-50, CAO Gold
I bought a Fonseca Vintage. They did not have the 5-50. I think it was around 6. Damn good cigar though. I will just have to find a deal on them online. What is the difference between the 5-50 and the vintage? Or is 5x50 just a robusto size of the version that says vintage on the side?

Hmmmm..... I haven't tried the Vintage yet. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm sure someone on here will step up.
