  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I also have a few of the Lotus T3 and looking at them they seem to be the same if I was to guess. They have been great lighters and the trick to them working great is to keep the jets clean and to make sure when you fill the tank to make sure you compleatly purge the tank. The tank is huge so just make sure the tank is empty before refilling and it can take some time.

I have the Vector Thundra, and it is awesome. I've had it well over a year, it works great, its fuel supply is awesome, and it weighs a ton. Sometimes you can get them free with certain specific box purchases from CI/CBid, JR, etc., if you check around. Otherwise, I'd start with CBid and the other usual suspects.

My first one stopped lighting several months in, but I used a less expensive fuel that was listed at 3 x refined, but I'm not sure about that fuel, and do not use it any more. I have another one that has been workign fine for quite some time.

How is the warranty? Are they as good as xikar? Shipping will cost because of the weight but it is worth it i guess.

correction to my previous statement.

I just spoke with them regarding my broker Thundra, and they said to send it ot them and they will service or replace it for free. If the lighter were discontinued, they would replace it with a similar product. Said it usually take less than 2 weeks.

I have one of these, and I'd just recommend using the highest quality butane you can find. It does not respond well to cheap fuel, as others have mentioned. Frankly, the fact that this lighter is so fickle about the fuel used (when my other lighters are not) means that I rarely use it. Also, I don't see the point in triple torch lighters. My best lighters have always been of the single torch variety. They just work better.

I have to admit the "cool" factor is playing its part and this is more a herf lighter to me. :ccool:

I've got one and haven't had any problems with it. Have people over the house all the time to smoke cigars, and the fuel hardly ever runs out in that thing. The triple flame gets things going quick, so you can spend more time smoking and drinking scotch than watching the edge of your foot while you toast it.

I've had a single flame for about a month. I use high quality fuel and haven't had a problem yet.

When I was looking at them, I was sure I got a single flame. They are much easier on the fuel. One flame is all you need...the others do add to the "cool" factor...but it's just two more things to break and burn your fuel quicker.
