  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey guys, I have a question about two RE's from Spain. I'm thinking of buying a box of Vegas Robaina Maestro (an RE from Spain in 2007) and a box of Punch Gran Robusto (another RE from Spain in 2009). I've seen a few reviews of the Maestro from a few years ago; they seemed to have gotten rave reviews. I haven't seen a more recent one and am wondering if they're worthy of a box purchase? I'm also interested in the Gran Robusto but I can't seem to find any reviews on it. Can anyone give some insight on either one? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Dan

On rarity alone, I'd say go for the Maestros. Fair warning I have no personal experience with them. But, that's typically what happens with these RE's. They come on the scene, get yay or nay reviews and then rarily to be heard of again after the 3-5 year mark. As long as the province checks out then you're good. I have no opinion on the Punch.

I love the VR marca, have tried some of the Regionals, typical profile.
Have tried Punch, after '06, a big disappointment. They changed the blend, yadda yadda. If the regionals are like the standard production, big disappointment.
If you like the Punch marca, get them.

So that's two peoples' opinions...........
