This is a brand that gets virtually no play in any dicussion of cigars. I've tried one - the Especiales #2. It was under less than ideal conditions...walking down a street...but it did not strike me as an especially flavorful cigar. Sort of mild, like a machine made Upmann. Is this a brand worth trying again?

they got alot of bad press when they first came out...deservedly so they were young and bland.

Especiales #1...have had 2 or 3 at about 4 years of age...a nice below medium strength and medium flavour smoke.

not of a size i smoke often but i would get a few 5 packs of the marevas.

I suppose one reason I ask about this brand is that I really enjoy the seoane size. Besides the Cohiba exquisitos (which I love), the Vegueros seoane is the only other one out there.

They really are different than any other Habano I have smoked.

Almost...well...refreshing. A group of us are buying 3-4 boxes together. We smoked
a fundadores and a V. back-to-back and they were actually quite complimentary. Completely different.

Hard to describe.

I'm buying a box so I suppose that means I liked 'em.

Got on in the singles drawer and I'll smoke it tomorrow!

I've only had one, a Mareva ... it was pretty good. Mild to medium overall with sweet, cedary core of flavors. Sort of reminded me of a Fonseca with a bit more strength and complexity.

LMAO, if you are buying a box all that means is you are conscious.
Buahahahahaha! If that ain't the ashtray calling the Xikar black... ;)

That's funny.

It's sadly true!

I'm enjoying some of the lesser known or available vitolas these days and they
are quite surprising in terms of the marked differences from the "mainstream."

Everyone gravitates to the well known marques such as Cohiba's and PSD's,
but the variety makes for being able to enjoy my smokes no matter what
mood or locale. Quick, long, strong, mild, fat, skinny...it's somewhat like
dating.

I'd suggest that if you'd like to "experiment" with some different vitolas
that you try:

- Vegueros Especiales #2
- Rafael Gonzalez Panatelas
- Quai d'Orsay Imperiales

and if you don't mind (gasp!) machine-mades... ;)

- Jose Piedra
- Fonseca
- La Flor de Cano

...you might be surprised.

Based on all these complimentary comments, I might have to try this brand again. I'll be overseas in a few weeks...maybe I'll pick a couple of them up and smoke them under better conditions.
