Didn't see a thread for the VPR (just the VOR here http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=54008 ).
Sorry folks, no pics on this one, but imagine the same thing as the VPR but with a silver band instead of a gold one.
I'll keep this short and sweet...
The flavors aren't quite melded together yet, but that by no means indicates a youthful tasting cigar. It will just benefit from a little bit of down time, not that it entirely needs it.
Main notes were leather, nutmeg, and peppermint. Unlike any cigar (referring to alternate brands) I've had before in terms of flavor combination. Also had a thick, stalky, tobacco taste to it that underpinned the rest of the profile.
I've only burned one so far... it was a bit plugged, had to chop a fair amount off of the end and gouge it with a draw tool... but then the smoke came out in satisfactory volume.
The word of warning... FULL STOMACH! I had this before dinner (although after a scoop... and a half... of ice cream). Knocked me around pretty good for a solid 15 minutes after I finished. This is coming from a guy who is 6'8" 280, and has handled strong cigars before. Maybe it was just a moment of weakness and lack of preparation... but I planned for this thing to be my first of two cigars for the night, and I'm bailing on having a second.
Any other thoughts on this thing? A local shop has 15 or so left... I would pick up more, but there are just too many good cigars out there to stock up without objectives in mind (considering I haven't yet moved up to walk-in status).
