Thanks to KPP for gifting me this cigar.
Viaje Platino Robusto - From Late '08 (pre-ribboned foot)
-Pre light draw, nice resistance, flavor of strong cedar and slight cinnamon. Sweet aroma at the foot.
-the wrapper was crazy oily
-construction is top notch
-First puff is incredibly smooth. Lots of vanilla, rich tobacco, and a nice orange peel aroma
-as the cigar progresses there is a lot more pepper and the orange peel flavor is all over this thing.
-there is a subtle bitterness on the tongue, but the aftertaste is woody and sweet
-approaching the 2nd third and this is by far the most citrusy cigar I have ever had. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom use to make orange jello all the time. The sweet/tangy orange aroma that used to fill the kitchen is the predominant lingering flavor on this cigar.
-As the cigar progressed toward the final third, graham cracker and cinnamon/fall spices began to ease their way into the main flavors of the smoke.
-the final third was much more decadent than the rest of the cigar, and also had some nice vanilla/whiskey notes.
-Final Verdict: Win. I'm a Viaje slut now too...
*not sure why the pictures are messed up*
