  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I think if you do a search you should be able to find quite a bit on these and I'm sure some of the Brothers will chime in soon. Good luck and congrats on your purchase, I'm a igloo man myself.

I wish I would have scored a vino when I started up. I have been through two humis so far and I am out growing my present storage.

If anyone finds good deals for these online, please notify a Brother(of the leaf)!

Also, good call on renting out the extra space. I like your style.

ha, I have the same question about the new plastic smell and just made a thread. Guess I should have looked at the front page instead of relying only on the search!

Off Topic: Your username and your user title are confusing me. Which is it? BMW, or Mercedes? And, is that your e46 M in your avatar? It is kinda hard to tell from the small picture.

will it run all night?Set the temp at the highest setting and you should be cool with that model

how well does it hold humidity?mine is solid as a rock, with short dips if the cooler runs too long, but it bounces right back

are you running a fan at the bottom to circulate air?yes, I use an OUST fan (no fragrance) they can still be found on Ebay

how many temp/humidity guages(one top and bottom?) 1 on top, 1 on bottem

how did you get the new plastic smell out?(im using empty boxes and cedar) Mild dish soap, and mine wa good to go. Also the cedar from the cigar boxes will help

Im going to buy cedar shelves and trays next i just need to save some money:bouncetauMtMouse makes em, he also makes drawers to fit your model. I used broken down cigar bowes to make cedar shelves.

now i just need to fill this bad boy up!!!:stretchgr

That should help a bit

I'm not using any other fan in mine.

I took a piece of black electrical tape and placed it over the drain hole on the bottom. I've place 1/2 pound of Heartfelt beads in a mesh bag where the drain hole is. If any condensation drips down it will be absorbed by the beads and recirculated back.

I have another 1/2 pound of beads in my top tray.

I have the temp set at 66.

With the trays and beads, I have had no maintenance issues, at all. I've had to add a little moisture to the beads once in three months.

This is what it looked like when I first set it up.

Question: I put 1lb of 65% beads in my vinotemp..the humidity at the middle and top is 72-74% and the bottom stays between 63-65%. I have a CO in the bottom and two oust fans(one top blowing down, and the other on the bottom blowing up). the beads are divided into 4 parts with the majority being on the top. Is there anything else I can do to ensure the humidity throught is between 63-65%?

And why does it seem that my vino runs non stop? Can I put some type of timer on it allowing it to run in cycles?

V/r
