  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Looking for some suggestions to expand my knowledge of straight Virginia tobaccos. So far I've only had Samuel Gawith Black XX Twist and Blakeney's Best Tawny Flake. Love the BB. The XX is, as they say, what it is. I like it, but never really have my heart set on it.
Any choices for what you consider a good representation of Virginia?

Can't say I have any straight VA in my stash. Pretty much all VA blends. I think my Orlick tin is straight VA, but I'm not even sure where it is, nor have I tried it.

ETA: If you want to explore VAs, and get a feel for what they are, the VABur blends tend to be flavored a bit more mildly than the VAPer blends which can be a little stronger on flavor. Not to say anything about strength, just flavor intensity.

Most mclellands matured va's, orlik golden sliced, Christmas cheer, 5100

I'd reccomend stepping into vaper land with some escudo, dnr and similar blends

Blackxx is not a good representation of a va by any means

The 5100 and Matured Virginia lines have caught my attention, along with the Orlik.
I really enjoy Elizabethan Mixture for a VaPer. I'm sure I've tried more, but can't remember for sure.
Sorry for the new guy question, but I'm assuming dnr is Deluxe Navy Rolls? Is that strictly a Dunhill blend or do others use the same name?

I had this idea a while ago, and the more I dig into options the more I feel like there's too many choices! I might have to do a little research on the brands above, simply because I've never heard of them :)
