BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cigars are commonly categorized by the size and shape of the cigar, which together are known as a vitola. The most common shape is the parejo, which has a cylindrical body and a round cap.

vitola is the factory name of a particular sized cigar and that size only...there is NO vitola called a "lonsdale" or "petite corona" or "churchill" etc...these are just the name given to a cigar for the box printing (by a brand name).

Well that site doesn't say those vitolas don't exist, just that the factory vitola is different from the commercial name (Vitola de Galera vs Vitola de Salida as they say)

Basically Cubatobacco has a specific numbering system to diferentiate between all cigar sizes. These Vitola Numbers are how the factories list the sizes of each cigar. Vitola numbers starting with 2** are fully machine-made, starting with (1**, though I don't think any vitolas of this number exist any longer) 4**, 5** or 6** are completely hand-made and those starting with 7** are machine bunched and hand finished with the possibility of being totally handmade in certain instances. Now, calling a cigar a "Double Corona" or a "Robusto" is just slang for these vitola numbers. The factory doesn't officially classify anything as such but obviously if you went up to Senor Robaina and asked him to roll you a Mareva, he'd know what you were talking about!
