Weird Stuff on cigar foot?

Was about to light up this rocky Patel 20th lancero but when I inspected the foot, I saw some weird hairy looking substance. Pulled on it and it was like I was pulling apart a cotton ball. Anyone got ideas?

That's either the worst case of mold I have ever seen or some strange spider/insect has taken up residence and built a web to start a family.

Could have been something on the rolling table accidentally got into the cigar when they are rolling them. It happens from time to time.

Thanks for the insights. First time it’s happened. No signs of mold in the cigar or others.

I'm on mobile, but at first glance it looked like a spider web to me.
