  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What are your top favorite nc's?

When I want an NC instead of a CC, these are the ones I have been finding the most enjoyable:

Illusione HL Candela
Illusione 888 Candela
Illusione La Grande Classe Rex ( glad to see someone else enjoys them too!)
Tatuaje Black label (Just about any vitola, but partial to Cazadores and Petite Lanceros)
Tatuaje reserva J21
DE no. 9 and T52 Double Coronas
Cain F Lancero
LFD Cabinet Cameroon
AF Hemingway

Just a few (HA!) That I've been smoking consistently (i.e., buying additional boxes). Heck, the HL Candela is one of my favorite cigars period. Have some new stuff that I'm digging (like Aladino) but the above have been consistent/multiple boxes worthy.

Plan to order a 1926 and 1964 to try out as they seem to get lots of great reviews

I see a lot of different Tatuaje mentioned all the time, but have never had one.
Will have to rectify that one of these days

Those Tatuaje J21's are incredible! Sleeper smokes

I’m a bit of a CBL and Fuente ‘ho so...

AF 8-5-8 Maduro - a great everydayer, especially with some rest
AF Anejo #46 - Top 5
AF Casa Cuba Divine Inspiration - I always buy some when I can find them
AF Hemingway Best Seller Maduro - my favorite vitola in the line
AF Mag R44 - another Top 5er - at 2 years they really start to shine
Isabela - a very under-the-radar boutique brand
JRE Aladino - the Eiroas know Corojo - the Cazador and Elegante are my favorite vitolas
Padron 64 Anniversary series - who doesn’t like Padrons?
Tatuaje Black Label - CG and Petite Lancero
Tatuaje Brown Label 7th and Noella Reserva, the PCR is a great short smoke

Trying to avoid super expensive or LE releases:

HVC 500th
El Gueguense (maybe the best new regular release in the past decade, imho)
Cornelius & Anthony Cornelius

Hererra Esteli core line
Crowned Heads Mil Dias, Four Kicks
Warped La Hacienda, Futuro, and (where did these go?!) Flor de Valle
Tatuaje Noella, and most any black label

My preferences run Cuban and NCs in the medium-full; Ecuadorian Habano/corojo/criollo type stuff.

I don’t really smoke maduros, but when I do, the Dunbarton Mi Querida Tricki Traca and the Foundation Gueguense Maduro, and any of the Tatuaje Reservas, Padron 64 or 26 maduros, or Fuente core line maduros are really good. And if you’re into chocolate, the Jericho Hill by Crowned heads is like smoking a brownie.
