  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What do you use for a punch?

Up until a week ago I always cut my cigars...
Then a friend of mine showed me his torch lighter with a flip out punch on the bottom. I was impressed with the draw I got when using it.

I was wondering what your punch of choice is? I've seen some online that seem way to expensive for such an easy job. Then I've seen ones for 99 cents (looks like a pill on a key chain). I'm in the market for a torch lighter and punch so the combo seems like a good choice.

Thanks

I use both, depending on the cigar, where I am, etc...

My punch looks like a bullet, goes on my key chain, and I got it as a freebee from Thompsons years ago.

The two cutters I use are from Savoy & Xikar, and weren't freebees...lol

I have a cheapo key chain punch that I use up to 52 ring gauge. I also have a larger bullet style that a friend gave me that I use on larger gauge. I also keep a Xikar scissors on my key ring that I use for torpedos and belicosos.

I enjoy punching for certain cigars but don't tend to use that or a V cut very often. I'm a shloppy smoker and I tend to have tar build up problems with a punch.
