  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What if...

What if the government is pulling a major fast one on us?

What if those great tasting non-cuban cigars that the great one, Don Pepin Garcia, is making aren't non cuban at all?

What if they're being made with real cuban tobacco?

I mean, hasn't anyone noticed some of the striking similarities between some of his stuff and some of the supposedly authentic CC stuff?

What if he's been using some cc grown tobaccos and slowly mixing it in to his cigars?

How else can you explain the flavors he's able to get?

But then again...if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

Just theorizing here, and realizing yet again that i'm a pepin whore.

Um that pretty much ends the discussion there... Honestly I think that they have more to worry about then some cuban cigars... when broken down there are far more illegal goods being brought in from Cuba, and many more are bringing Cuba money than cigars...

Uh maybe cocaine...

I"m just beginning my quest. but so far i've loved the tat red labels, expecially the verocus, the tat cojonu 2006 is might fine, the DPG black labels are very good as well. The Little havana overruns are pretty good as well, they have a trace of the distinct pepin flavor. I"m going to try out an El Centurion robusto tonight. Also loved the 601 green label, actaully really loved that one. DPG series JJ is good as well, but i need to revisit that one, my memory is a little foggy on that one.

Still on tap for me are the 5r vegas miami, el rey de los habanos, cabaiguan, tat black, padilla 1932, padilla 8 & 11, and any others i can get my hands on.

I don't know here...but to me alot of different Cuban marcas taste different to me...I mean a Partagas tastes very different from a Quintero etc....

I've only had a couple of the DPG's and they didn't taste like any Cuban cigar I've had. They tasted pretty strong, though. But, I am far from an expert on Don Pepin products.
