What is the difference in bands?

I just opened a box of H. Upmann Petit Coronas from 2000. As I began smoking one I niticed the band was different. So I dug through my band collection and sure as hell there are two diffrent style bands. But the both of them were on PC cigars. So what is the difference?

I should let Kevin handle this, but I believe one is just more updated than the other.

The newest ones might even be embossed brown/white, too.
Or maybe that was Montes?
Not sure if it's a date thing or a fancy box/slb thing with those two bands, though, but I do know I have both of them.

I believe all recent production bands for H. Upmann look like the top band. Didn't they model them after the Mag 50 :dunno: My memory is fading...

I think the bottom band is newer, even though it looks crappier.
I have a box of 1992 H. Upmann Belvederes and they've got that band, but all the Mag 46s I've had have the bottom band.

My Dad's 2000 PCs have the top band and his 2005 Mag 46s have the bottom.

Bought a box in Varadero when I was there in 2005 and they featured the top band. Can't recall the box code and I am at work, but I'll check when I'm home and update.

I have to say, if you really look at those bands closely, they don't look like the standard cuban bands, such as Boli, Cohiba, and others. The print is sloppy and basicly it looks like they were fakes. IMO

You are right, they look sloppy, but that does not mean they are fake. I don't like this band for that reason. The classic brown and white looks more nice to me, but that's just me.
