  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What to do with all those cigar bands?

I mentioned to my wife that I should put all my cigar bands in a nice jar/vase coz I thought it's look nice. To my supprise, she suggested to take this nice one that she wasn't using.
I  my wife!!

I like that. I started doing something similar with a big jar. I have a loooong way to go to fill it up though. I can think of worse problems, though.

Never bought from there, but I have had a Nub before. It was a decent smoke. It definitely lasted longer than I thought it would.

I've bought from cigar auctioneer a few times, you can score some great deals if you're patient. I've made some good scores on Tatuaje, La Aurora Preferidos, and some of the less-popular (but awesome) Don Pepin sticks like Mi Barrio and Tobacco Baez.

Heard plenty of good things about Nub and wanted to see what the fuss is all about.
Would you recommend anything for an NC novice?

Love Nubs, prefer the Maduro and Habano to the others though. The only thing I've managed to win off Cigar Auctioneer is a 5er of CAO Brazilia Piraniha. I did have high hopes of getting some Nub Habanos dirt cheap, but looks like I just got outbid a few times at the last minute :cursing:.

I cant believe your first nc is going to be a nub! You skipped over Padron, Tatuaje, Fuente, Illusione, LFD, LP etc etc etc?!?!

Thats a great use for the bands, I have done something similar at my house and I think it nicely counteracts my wife's cork collection... either that or it makes us both look like a bunch of degenerates!

Well, I guess when cigars are so expensive like here in Australia, when I buy a cigar, I might as well buy the best!
I'll give you an example. A Nub here, online, costs about $20 USD. I bought 8 Nubs at the auctioneer for $25 USD. Bargain. So much of a bargain, I have to say it again... bargain bargain!!

The Aussie customs and duties will double the price, unfortunately. Still worth it. $50 for 8nubs. Same here is nearly $200.

Don't know how trading here works. What's the process?

I will always be grateful to the Nub for getting me smoking again. I, too, won an 8pack of 2 of each kind of wrapper: maduro, habano, Connecticut, and Cameroon.

Great sticks for the price. My favorites, in order, are as follows:

Habano
Maduro
Cameroon; which had more complexity than I expected.
The CT I don't remember much. Women who smoke seem to like the Camie so I keep a few around. I'm married but a couple of the wives of the guys I hangout with smoke'em and love them. Just sayin.....
