I've never tried a CC and am intrigued about them and what to dip my toe in the waters but wanted to hear from others what pushed you over the edge? Travel outside the country? Someone offered you one? Curious as to what everyone's story is. Thanks!

I blame @The Munt and @ChefBoyRG54

I was the guy that smoked mostly mid line stuff from the local B&M on and off for years and then I joined up here and these yahoos must of though it was time for me to step up my game. After smoking sticks from a MAW and random bomb... it was obvious to me that it was time to order some CCs.
Your blame is placed rather timely and I accept said blame :cigar:
You will understand the irony in a few days

Well for me, it wasn't a push to say. I was a Daddy's girl. And his 3 rd. Son. We would work on cars and smoke cigars together. Our bonding time, and being one of the guys in the garage.

That is very comforting. A father of three girls and it is the youngest who clings to me the most. Wants ton"check some things" on her bike when I'm working on the truck.

I was in Niagara Falls for a long weekend about 15 years ago or so and figured why not try and see what all the hoopla was about. Well I sure found out soon after I lit my first CC. It was perfect. I've had a lot of good NC's since then, but really very few of them ever compared to a CC. Since then I've occasionally had a few CC's every now and then, but recently the money situation has finally matured for me enough to partake more frequently.

Up until about a year ago i wasnt a serious cigar smoker. My mother in law travled to cuba and bought me some sticks back she got during a factory tour. No name sticks. They totally blew me away so i started to get more into cigar smoking in general. Didnt smoke any other cc until i was lucky enough to land half a box of espys about 3 months ago. Since then iv smoked a few different cc and just placed my first box orders. I love both cc and nc but this is something about smoking a good cc that juat adds to the whole experience.

Had my first CC back in 2003 (or was it 2004) while attending a trade show in Koln Germany. I was working as a sourcing specialist at the time and had the opportunity to have dinner one night with the president of DeWalt. After dinner he bought cigars for the table. Now up until that point I had only ever smoked Swishers, Backwoods, Dutchmasters or the occasional "It's a Boy, It's a Girl" cigar so this one really stood out. That's not what sent me down the rabbit hole though.

Fast forward to 2012. I had joined BOTL and was heading down the slippery slope at a breakneck pace when I attended the same trade show in Germany (as a vendor this time). I stopped at the Duty Free shop at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam during my layover and picked up some RyJ Tubos and Monte #2's. It's been a steady progression from there but that was the turning point.
