I picked up a box Padilla Miami robustos on the devil site and got them in today. I was always under the impression that the cigars were made in Miami. However, when I looked on the bottom of my box it said Honduras. CA's ratings database also says Honduras, but most all of the reviews I've read said Miami.

It was a pretty good smoke for $4 a piece from the devil site, but I am curious as to where they're really made.

Padilla and Pepin Parting Ways

Posted: Monday, February 25, 2008

By David Savona

EXCLUSIVE Star roller Jose "Pepin" Garcia is ceasing production of cigars for Ernesto Padilla, owner of the hot boutique Padilla cigar brands. Padilla Miami, 1932 and 1948 cigars will be rolled in a new Miami factory being opened by Padilla, perhaps as soon as two months from now.

I've heard that before, but it didn't make sense that my Padilla Miami box has Made in Honduras on it. Well, today I think I got my answer. Over on Stogie Review, they interviewed Sam Leccia at the IPCPR and right at the end of the interview they asked him about Nub Miami's and Sam said that Padilla just got his license to roll in Miami less than a month ago. So that would explain why I think the Padilla Miami's are made in the Honduras, not Miami.
