  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Shit...your list looks pretty good to me B.J.!

Not alot I would add, other than stating that I would be open to anything. y'all have smoked alot more cigars than me, so I'll defer.

no machine mades though, but I don't think that would happen.

oh, and jorge, I was thinking that maybe you would want to ask jefslat about this.

Cuaba Salomon's...had one last night and it was great. it's apparently a different blend than the rest of the line. One source has them for $14/ea., which is pretty cheap., IMO.

I left off some the ELs or other special items. If someone has a better vitola list, let me know and I can put up a listing of stuff based on size/brand/whatever. I had to comb through several different sites to get the list I did. Actually, if anyone has a list of current production stuff, I'd just like to have it in general.

I prefer stuff in the 5.5-6.25 and 44-50 range. Bigger or smaller is not a biggie but I'm not a fan of things that are longer than 7". Gives me a complex. :)

What's everyone's preferred size? A general guideline would be nice. And then a buying plan.

I see something like this...

Each month, we may decide on certain size. Say the first time it's robustos. We could get a box of Boli Royal Coronas, ERDM Corona Gordas, Trinidad Coloniales and some Uppman Connoisseur No.1s

- OR - Drop one box and add a "special". Have a basic size for the buy and then throw in a wild card. Instead of the Connoisseurs we grab a box of Lusitanias.

- OR - Do a brand specific buy. A run through the Uppman brand. A box of Amatistas, Connoisseur No.1s , Magnum 46s, Super Coronas and No. 2s fits right into our budget. And then the next month, we move onto another brand.

- OR - We all turn in a wish list with our top 5 choices, someone tabulates the count and we go after the top 3-5 boxes on the list (depending on prices.)

- OR - Single cigar blitz. We buy as many boxes of one or two cigar as possible. Want Partagas Serie D #4s this time? OK, let's get 3-4 boxes of that.

Any of the above methods works for me. Heck, we could do a vote each month on the method. That way, we don't get tied into just one method.

I think we should take a thematic approach in the first 2 buys. pick either a brand and buy several boxes of it, or pick a size and concentrate on 3 boxes, get more than one of a specific cigar if we still have room.

size buys are good too. I agree that we should leave last buy of each active period for either a sampler like buy, or do more especial cigars.

I do like the especial idea. Let's go after some ELs every now and then.

Personally, I would prefer ending up with as many of the same cigar at one time as possible. If we keep this up, we should be able to wade through all the things we want but I don't need 2 of everything.

DUDES!!!

I'm asuming we can just discuss venodors in here, since it's private, right?

anyway, manuel had COHIBA PYRAMIDE EL'S FOR 391 USD/BOX, ACCORDING TO THE MOST CURRENT EURO CONVERSION.

We need to find a way to make this happen!

I'm checking a rebander right now that usually is a good benchmark for low low low prices to see, but I'm pretty sure that this is a good deal!........just checked. they're out of stock, and when they last had them, they sold them for $456/box.

ALSO- read the post by puroexpress on CW. They have some good combo, multi-box deals, and you save on shipping since you just pay one charge. Also, they mention a "frequent buyers club" which allows you to earn FREE BOXES!

Oh, I finally had a Siglo VI last night. I personally think these need a little bit of time, but I like the potential and the unique vitola.
