World's Best Smokeless Ashtray

I picked one of these up to make my smoking a bit more tolerable for the girlfriend and I modified it to work for cigars. It comes with one rest for a cigar but it's useless as is. I cut out 2 sides of the inner ring and one of the dividers in a cigarette slot. Then I put 2 layers of fine and super fine wire mesh over the fan so the ashes do not fall into the unit. It's quiet and no smoke gets out. The dome that goes over the top isn't used (by me). Does this just emit odorless smoke, or does it remove the smoke completely?

It seems to completely remove the smoke. I set a T52 in there and there was no smoke anywhere. If it can handle a Liga, it can handle anything.

Now if you can somehow engineer this into something like Bane's mask from the latest Batman, then maybe my wife wouldn't mind me smoking in the house, lol.

thank you for this, i have been looking (but not very hard) for something like this so the fiance will quit bitching that she cant sit on the porch with me when i light up..... on second thought.....

Well obviously there's still a large amount coming from the exhale so I doubt she'll be joining you anytime soon. I only bought this so we can sit out together while on vacation in a couple weeks. I smoke her out at home.

For the exhale you could always do the old paper towel tube stuffed with a dryer sheet... Hah!!

Does anyone know what size the wire mesh is that we are calling "fine" and "super fine" in this application? I know a little something about this material and was wondering if some 100 x 100 (100 wires per inch) would be fine enough to use? Also - is it stainless steel material? Or does this not matter.
