  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Should I or should I not? I'm debating on buying the X8 cutter: the debate is black (found for $19) or camo (found for $30). I know it shouldn't be this hard of a decision. Background, I'm a hunter and think the camo would be pretty cool...but....do I need to spend the extra money? Looking for you all to push me one way or the other.:finger:

how many cutters do you already have?

me personally.. I like having a couple of "nice" cutters and torches.. (not necessarily the best performing.. but things that feel/look nice for display and/or use on special occasion, etc..for example, I think it would be cool to have a "camo" cutter and torch to use when at the hunting camp.. but probably wouldnt use them much outside of there..)..

but.. I also keep several "cheap" accessories around for daily use.. Ive got several ronson torches, lower cost xikar and colibri cutters, etc.. I keep them in the truck, in my brief case, in my desk drawer, etc..etc.. so that Ive always got something around when I need it..

I've got what I would consider to be a good selection. I've got some cheap ones for the garage and golf course, I've got a colibri, a v-cutter, a montecristo slide and some other randoms. I tried my buddy @Rexinator989 X8 cutter and it's amazing, perfect cut every time. Seems like this will be my next purchase.

@Dick Leighton & @JG358 - haha I like what you're thinking!

If you really like the camo I say get it. What's the extra $11 for a cutter that will last you technically a lifetime?

I see a lot of black cutters, but not any camo cutters while hanging out with my buddies or at the B&M's I go to. I have a plain black Xikar that I got for free with a cigar purchase when I first started ordering cigars online and I bought a cool looking, special edition Xikar a couple of years ago. They both cut the same, but guess which one I use more. Yep, the cooler looking one.

Good luck on your purchase. You can't really go wrong with a Xikar .
