  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So I just picked up a new Xikar Allume in the tuxedo black on eBay for $30. It's awesome!

It's a touch more svelte than a Zippo. Just a bit narrower and thinner, while being about the same height. Love the compact size, and it lights a cigar with ease. My favorite lighter now, hands down.

very nice! Does it seem like it has a decent size fuel tank? this may be next on my lighter list.
Well, it's tiny so it's not going to have a big tank no matter what. I've only used it once (last night) so I don't know how long it lasts yet.

not expecting it to be giant but as long as it can last for more than a half a dozen sticks that would be ideal. I have a Xikar Executive I snagged of cbid on the cheap and that lighter has been nothing but a disappointment in more ways than one.

With single flame fuel will last longer. This is on my hit list to review, love all the color options. Nice snag!

A lighter this size would not likely make it through 6 sticks. for the size, I'd be happy with 3 and jump for joy with 4.

I've been looking at the ST Dupont Minijet lighter for a while now. But I don't imagine I'll pull the trigger on one as the best price I've seen in about 160 bucks, which is way more than I'm willing to spend. This has a similar look. Maybe I should turn my attention to Xikar.

I haven't counted but the minijet often gets me 5 to 7 days of cigaring at 2 to 5 cigars a day in summer. And that thing is tiny.

That said, if you use the code that eLighters made for my website "cigarLR10", short for Cigar Lighter Reviews. You will receive an additional 10% off purchase. They have good pricing on MiniJet + the 10% off makes it about $115.80. Here are snap shots of both lighters, I like the Allume a lot. Hope this helps

love mine! I usually get at least 8-10 lights out of a tank....I filled it with walmart gas (fail) and they are right, use the xikar ($3 on devils site) and you'll be much happier :D enjoy your new lighter!!

Well considering everyone seems to like this lighter including Mr.Maduro who has handled more lighters than I have seen... Allowed me to justify it to myself and go ahead and order one getting the extra 10% utilizing the cigarLR10 coupon. I got the lighter and three cans of fluid, all for a little over $50.00.

I really want to like this lighter. I intend to carry it on me every day. I figure it's small size will be great for this - the fact that you can't activate it if it's upside down is gravy.

I'll report back in a week or two and report.
