I just got a Xikar Crystal 100 cigar humidifier and wanted to know about the Xikar propylene glycol solution for it. Is it better then distilled water? If yes, what is the advantage over the distilled water?

the solution is a mix of distilled water and PG. using the solution helps maintain humidity at close to 70%, and helps prevent mold.
