  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I picked up a xikar ellipse ii lighter on cb a few Weeks ago. Since I've gotten it the flames have all been at different heights. The front flame being the tallest and then stepping down in halves for the next heights. I only ever have filled it with xikar fuel after doing full bleeds. Tried compressed air. So looks like its going back for service.

Sounds good to me. Luckily I got it really cheap. the warranties are great but it just kills me that a company that boasts about being the highest quality and all can let a nearly 100$ lighter go out defective. I shouldn't have to use a warranty right out of the box.

I've replaced my Xikar Element 3x now this year. Each time it was for the igniter failing. We'll see how long it takes this one to die.

Great warranty, crap product. I'd rather not have to use the warranty, personally. I guess it's good that they stand behind their garbage, but I'd rather my lighters NOT break on me in the first place.

i have the same lighter, and i love it. I sent it in for warrenty once, the fuel tank sprung a leak. Got a new one sent back, and its worked great since. I am very happy with all my xikar products.

I've had my Element replaced 3x also...twice for the igniter and and once for the punch cutter falling off. Getting ready to send it back again for faulty igniter.

I had a xikar EXII with the carbon fiber on it. I had to send it back 3 or 4 times. I got sick of sending it back so I stepped up and bought a st DuPont maxi jet. I thought I was going to have the best lighter ever. My DuPont is in the mail on its way to where ever they repair them. It had ignition issues from the start. So far they haven't called asking for money but I've been told their repairs aren't always free... :/ just some food for thought
